Workshop objectives:
Dr. Doug Hurst, Scientific Director of the Biochemistry and immunology of Cancer program in
the Extramural Discovery Sciences Department, oversees peer review and grants management in
areas related to DNA and RNA mechanisms, immunology and blood cell development, and tumor
biochemistry and endocrinology.
Dr. Nicole Lopanik, Research Program Manager, joined the ACS in 2020. Dr. Lopanik is
responsible for organizing the peer review process for research grant applications in the
Biochemistry and Immunology of Cancer Program, and management of the large portfolio of
grants in this program.
