Interested in studying social media for your class or scholarly research? In this workshop we help you understand how to acquire social media for your research, focusing on Twitter. The workshop will include an overview of social media APIs and data formats, before exploring Twitter’s API in depth. We'll discuss how to find and re-use existing datasets and collect new datasets. There will be an opportunity to work hands-on with Social Feed Manager and TweetSets, open-source tools created at GW Libraries for social media data.
Attendees wishing to do the hands-on portion of the workshop should either join from the GW network or log into the GW VPN before joining the workshop, if possible.
